Nurse Practitioner John Samples comes to Apple Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN with over 30 years of varied healthcare experience. John became employed full-time at Apple Medical Center in January, 2020. Prior to this, he served Apple Medical Center as an independent contractor since June, 2017. As a nurse practitioner, John has experience in holistic medicine, occupational medicine, primary care, and urgent care.
John began his healthcare career as an emergency medical technician with a local EMS service and later earned certification as a paramedic. John left the EMS service, transferred to Memorial Hospital EMS, and began pursuing an associate’s degree in nursing. After completion of his degree, John began his nursing career working in the emergency departments of several local hospital systems.
John later earned a bachelor’s degree in business/organizational management from Bryan College in Dayton, TN. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN and achieved board certification as a family nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
When he is away from the practice, he enjoys camping, traveling, and spending time with his family.
